Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Laser Hair Removal

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Why would I undertake laser hair removal?
Are you sick of the relentlessly plucking, poking, shaving and using all sorts of strange creams to remove unwanted hair? Not to mention the ingrown’s that come along with traditional hair removal methods… Laser hair removal provides permanent hair reduction almost anywhere on your skin!

There are huge savings on both time and money with laser, the question is why wouldn’t you!

Laser hair removal provides a no-fuss approach to permanent hair removal, just drop into our clinic, sit back, relax and let us do the work whilst our Candela machines make magic happen. As hair reduces during your tailored course of laser hair removal treatments, very few maintenance laser treatments are required to be hair free.

Our customers can expect the best, most permanent laser hair removal results at Nirvana Beauty Laser Clinics – we are the experts in skin, laser and well-being!

How does laser hair removal work?
laser hair removalRevolutionary Candela laser hair removal system includes the FDA approved long-pulse, high energy Laser which emits a beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair follicles where it is absorbed through the melanin. The laser energy is transformed into heat. This destroys the hair follicle leaving the surrounding skin unaffected.

After a series of laser hair removal treatments, the hair follicles become sterile preventing the development of further hair growth in that follicle. Laser permanently removes hair in follicles during the growth (Anagen) phase. 25% of Hair is usually in the Anagen stage at any time. During this stage, the hair is most receptive to Laser because it is rich in protein, keratinized cells and melanin.

There are three further phases after the hair growth phase (the Catagen or transition phase, followed by the Telogen or resting phase). Hair is not susceptible to Laser during the Transition and resting phases. The duration of these phases of hair growth varies from person to person. This is why it is necessary for 6-8 treatments initially and further maintenance treatments (to cover the follicles that were not in the growth phase during earlier treatments).

At Nirvana Beauty & Laser Clinics we can treat fitzpatrick skin types I to V.

Laser treatments have been used for many years for a variety of medical and cosmetic procedures. CANDELA Laser, the most trusted name in the industry, has pioneered the development of some of the safest and most effective laser hair removal technologies and products available on the market today.

Who can have laser hair removal treatment?
We can treat Women and Men of all ages. Children under 18 will require a presence of a parent on the first consultation or a signed written consent from a parent.

We require that you complete a comprehensive consultation form to ensure that you do not have any contraindications to the treatment such as certain medication can cause photosensitivity. Please contact our clinic direct to discuss.

Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?
Clients can achieve anywhere from 80% to 90% hair reduction. These results will be influenced by certain conditions such as skin, hair colour and hormones. We advise 2 to 3 Maintenance visits a year. As with all Laser Hair therapy treatments, the frequency and number of Laser Hair removal treatments will depend on your skin type, the area affected and the size of that area.

Individual treatments vary according to skin and hair colour, the lighter your skin and darker your hair, the better the results to be expected. Contact us at Nirvana Beauty & Laser Clinics to arrange a free consultation and to discuss a treatment plan that suits your needs.

What is the difference between IPL hair reduction and laser hair removal?
Medical lasers such as our Candela machines emit a continuous and coherent wave of light which is a legitimate ‘laser’, but only penetrates on the optimum wave length to reach the specific layer of the dermis which houses your hair follicle.

IPL machines can cause serious damage to your skin if not operated appropriately. IPL was originally developed to treat other skin concerns such as pigmentation, acne, dehydrated and aging skin. The IPL is great for these type of treatments. We do have this available for treatments for these skin concerns under Photo-Rejuvenation.

IPL’ s for hair reduction may work on some people, however it is not an actual laser that is used, it is Intense Pulsated light which is scattered and therefore nowhere near as accurate as a proper laser. Therefore additional treatments may be required to get the outcome you’re looking for.

Is laser hair removal safe?
Yes, laser hair removal is safe providing you are treated with care by a technically qualified therapist and follow a few simple steps which include:

NO – Sun exposure – solarium – fake tans – on the area being treated two weeks before having Laser hair removal.

Always read the consultation and consent form you fill out before any laser hair removal treatments, and listen to the advice given to you by your laser technician.

Is laser hair removal painful?
Not for most people, our system is Candela which is equipped with a Dynamic Cooling Device; Cryogen is sprayed onto the skin, cooling the upper layers and providing patients with increased comfort, which takes away the slight pain felt when the laser zaps away working it’s magic.

You should always let your laser technician know if you are feeling any sort of pain or discomfort as there are many ways in which this can be helped.

Generally, you may feel heat or slight redness after your laser hair removal treatment but this will reduce within a couple of hours and can be relieved with post treatment of Laser Rescue gel – it literally will come to the rescue of any discomfort felt after laser hair removal.

What areas can be treated for laser hair removal?
See our pricelist HERE or give us a call to discuss your options with specialised areas.

How long does a laser hair removal treatment take?
Although our Candela machine’s treatment time is fast, a number of factors determine the length of time for a treatment. For Example a Brazilian Laser hair removal treatment can be done in less than 10 minutes.

How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?
Every Laser Hair Removal treatment, like every client, is unique. Individual Laser Hair removal treatments will vary according to skin and hair colour, lighter the skin and darker the hair, the better the results to be expected. On average, we recommend 8-10 laser hair removal treatments. Some clients may require additional laser hair removal treatments, depending on the individual.

Treatments should be repeated every 4-6 weeks apart depending on the hair growth rate. There is no need for long hair (hair should be shaved a day prior to scheduled laser hair removal treatment).

Blonde, red and grey hairs cannot be effectively treated using Candela Laser but we do have another equipment to target Blonde, red and grey hairs which is the ADENA. Contact us to arrange a FREE consultation to discuss a treatment plan that suits your needs with one of our trained, qualified and experienced laser technician.

Why does it take a number of laser hair removal treatments to clear an area of excess , unwanted hair?
Hair grows in repeating cycles, and only in the actively growing phase (Anagen) does the hair contain enough pigment to absorb sufficient energy to disable the hair follicle. When hair is in the dormant phase, it has little or no pigment, and it cannot absorb the laser light. A few weeks later, some of your dormant hairs will have moved into the actively growing stage, and you will come in for a treatment to disable those. As this cycle gets repeated, you experience increasing reduction of hair.

Does laser hair removal work if my skin is fair or I have Blonde/red/grey hair?
Nirvana Beauty clinics do have options for Blonde/red/grey hair ADENA which you can read all about HERE or give us a call on 1300 761 925

Consultation and assessment
Our qualified laser technicians invite you to contact us to arrange a FREE consultation, where we will assess the areas of concern and advise you on how many treatments you will need and the time between treatments to achieve the best result possible.

There are so many variables to be considered such as skin colour, hair thickness, hair colour, age, hormonal issues, medications, pre-treatment, sun exposure and lifestyle to name but a few. These variables need to be taken into account as the success of laser hair removal treatments will differ for each individual.

Who will be performing this procedure on me?
After your initial consultation, your treatments will be performed by a qualified laser technician. All our laser technicians are trained in the use of laser hair removal and have received extensive supervised in house training.

What precautions should I take before or after my treatment?
Unlike waxing, there is no need for long hair. Hair must be short for your laser treatment, about 1-2 days hair growth, 2mm max. Shave or trim the hair before your laser hair removal treatment.

Shorter hair ensures the treatment is more comfortable for you and allows the laser energy to travel down to the follicle faster.

Avoid sun exposure/tanning or solarium on the area for 2 to 3 weeks before treatment, and 2 weeks after laser hair removal treatment. You can use Spray Tan 24 hours after the treatment. We recommend wearing a 30+ SPF sun screen even for casual (routine) exposure to the sun and Laser Rescue gel up to 3 days post your laser treatment.

Are there any adverse side-effects to laser treatments?
A small percentage of persons treated may experience side effects (unwanted outcomes); these side effects are usually temporary and mild, though can be more severe and longer term. They include:

  • Scarring though rare and more likely with darker skin types, it can occur with all skin types and especially if the required precautions (relating to sun exposure and some medicines) are not followed, before, during and after laser hair removal treatment.
  • Hyper-pigmentation (darker skin) can occur because of inflammation caused by laser treatment and a brown mark arises that usually takes some months to fade with the assistance of lightening agents.
  • Hypo-pigmentation (lighter skin): laser treatment can cause a loss of skin pigmentation in the treated area. This pigmentation usually returns but can take up to 12 months and in very rare cases can take so long that is considered permanent.
  • Bacterial or viral infection. Any infection in a wound created by a laser has the potential for scarring and laser treatments have been known to trigger herpes simplex outbreaks.

In general, most procedures have a low risk of adverse side effects. Some clients do experience a slight pigment change in their skin colour. If this occurs, the skin typically returns to normal pigmentation in a few weeks. You may apply Vitamin E cream to the treated areas; it will help the fading process. All treatment results are individual.

What you need to do before:

You will need to have the area being treated shaved, the optimum for this procedure is to have 1-2 days growth of hair so your therapist can see where the hair growth is!

Most Important:
CLIENT PRE & POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

c) you must treat the skin with care at all times
d) you must come in the correct time frame recommended by the laser technician for your treatment to be successful

Don’ts:

a) you must not exposure the area being treated to sun, self tanning lotions or tanning beds 4 weeks prior your laser hair removal treatment and during duration of your laser hair removal treatment to prevent pigment change or laser burns

c) you must not use harsh exfoliants or rubbing to treated area for minimum of 24 hours
d) you must not pick, scratch, rub or irritate any blisters/or grazing after having your laser hair removal treatment (although this is rare, in the event it happens, please contact the clinic immediately, you may need to see your local gp for anti biotic in the case of blistering)
e) you must not wax, tweeze or use depilatories between treatments – only shaving is permitted
f) you must understand that if you arrive for your appointment with a tan, unshaved areas or any other contraindications to the laser hair removal treatment your laser hair removal treatment will be deferred, as these will increase chances of having adverse effects such as blistering, grazing etc
g) you must not rub, scratch, irritate the treated area for a minimum of 3 days after your laser hair removal treatment – in the case you do its very possible to have slight grazing occur

Most Important:

NO – Sun exposure – solarium – tanning – on the area being treated two weeks before having Laser hair removal.

Any exposure to the areas being treated of 2 weeks before or after the area could cause pigmentation, burns, scarring and other nasties, please do not expose yourself to this, it is also clearly stated on the consultation & consent form and your home care instructions.

Our trained, qualified, and professional laser technician will always create and maintain a friendly, professional and safe environment. Your laserr technician  will use a small hand piece that touches your skin to deliver the pulse. You may feel a light spray of coolant on your skin before each laser pulse.

We advise you use Laser rescue gel for 3-4 days after all laser hair removal treatments, we will apply the laser rescue for you after your treatments in the clinic.

Should I be receiving Laser Hair Removal treatment if I am on medication?
There are certain medications that can affect the treatment. The most common are Roaccutane and Retinol A. These medications can cause pigmentation to occur during treatment and/or a burn to the treated skin. We do not recommend starting Laser Hair Removal treatment until up to 6 months after finalizing the course of your medications.

How much does it cost?
Click here for our comprehensive pricelist, or call us on 1300 761 925 to speak to a therapist now

Post laser hair removal Care:

Please ensure you wear sun block regardless of what you are doing during the day.

Do not wax or pluck the hairs being treated for up to four weeks before laser hair removal treatments. This will stimulate the hair follicle which was just zapped with the laser – this may lead to it re-generating and you may find the hair will grow back here.

We say this again to stress the importance:

NO – Sun exposure – solarium – tanning – on the area being treated two weeks before having Laser hair removal.

Any exposure to the areas being treated of 2 weeks before or after the area could cause pigmentation, burns, scarring and other nasties, please do not expose yourself to this, it is also clearly stated on the consultation & consent form and your home care instructions.

What results can I expect after laser hair removal treatments?
Occasionally, some clients have a few hairs left following the completion of the treatment course, but are sparser and even almost invisible. Sometimes the area of regrowth may be patchy, this does not mean that the technician has missed or was not thorough, it just means that hairs were not in the Anagen stage (growth stage) – see read about how laser hair removal works for more information on this.

NON-SURGICAL LIPOSUCTION

How does non-surgical liposuction actually work?
The non-surgical liposuction fat reduction treatment at Nirvana Beauty uses the Medicage SONOSHAPE TM (SS) which is an EXCLUSIVE and unique technology by Dr Fassis’s CUS TM that stands Medicage SONOSHAPE TM (SS). This remarkable non-surgical liposuction machine is a combination of Ultrasound, Lymphatic Drainage, and Radio Frequency, Myostimulation and Cryotherapy. This machine achieves results in two different steps:

1. Ultrasound RF waves penetrate into the dermis targeting only the fat layer of the skin (not fluid) through vigorous vibrations. These tiny vibrations are absorbed by the thick layers of fat. When the waves enter the fat, they continue to vibrate the fat calls, think of two water balloons smashing together. This literally destroys the fat cells and stops them from multiplying and dividing.

2. After this treatment, the frequency of the waves in the second treatment heats up and melts the fat up to 70 degrees internally. This may cause slight discomfort due to heat but does not hurt. In effect, the fat turns into liquid and is lead out through your body’s natural Lymphatic Drainage system.

Is non-surgical liposuction safe?
Yes! he non-surgical treatment is liposuction without surgery! As a non-invasive and all natural procedure. The melted fat is waste to the body and is naturally flushed out by the normal biological procedures of the lymphatic drainage systems and through the liver and the kidney – a maximum of 30% of the melted fat is eliminated through these channels. The remaining fat hardens back as it was before and sits in the same area, which is why we recommend up to six of our non-surgical liposuction treatments for optimal results. You can also burn extra fat by going for a walk for 40 minutes after to encourage your body to use the fat targeted in the procedure.

How do I loose CM but not weight?
Non-surgical Liposuction is skin tightening and becoming compact – this is how your body becomes smaller and you lose cm but you don’t lose any unhealthy weight.
The weight you may lose is naturally extracted through the above methods so you do not see an immediate drop of weight, just a disappearance and tightening of those saggy, fatty areas.

Where did this non-surgical liposuction technique come from?
Nirvana Beauty Laser Clinics was the first to use this exclusive treatment over 7 years ago. This miracle technique was developed by Dr. Fassi in QLD, Dr Fassi has extensively worked on perfecting non-invasive body-shaping treatments achieving astonishing results. Often described as a “magician” by his patients, Dr Fassi has been selected by Australian Women’s Weekly as the Australian Cellulite Expert and interviewed to provide specialist advice in treating it (2008 Special beauty guide, p: 200). He used this technique exclusively on models and celebrities who would come to him for their non-surgical liposuction needing a quick fix or a results focused solution to get rid of the bumps and lumps which diet and exercise could not reach. Today the SONOSHAPE non-surgical liposuction treatment is widely regarded as the safest and fastest way to loose fat fast.

*Clients must have healthy functioning liver and kidneys to undertake this procedure.

*It is perfectly safe, there are no side effects to this FDA & TGA approved non-surgical liposuction treatment

What are the benefits of non-surgical liposuction?

  • All natural procedure
  • 40min in and out
  • No anaesthetic
  • No nasty side effects
  • Guaranteed cm loss!
  • No downtime so normal activities can resume right away.
  • The treatment will feel like a heated massage – no pain at all.

“Lose fat without breaking out into a sweat.”

How long has the non-surgical liposuction technology been around?

How long does a non-surgical liposuction session take?

LED LIGHT THERAPY

Where does LED Light Therapy come from?
LED Light Therapy technology was originally developed by NASA to improve wound healing and tissue growth in space. It assisted with tired and fatigued astronauts upon their return. The potential of this LED technology was uncovered and introduced into the medical markets. It is used in the medical field to treat babies with jaundice.

Is LED Light Therapy safe?
YES! It has been proven in numerous studies that Far Red to Near- Infrared(670nm) LED photo rejuvenation does not harm the human body. The energy delivered is safe for all skin types.

How long before I will see results?
You should notice a healthy glow after the first treatment on your skin. However, each person responds at different rates. Factors that influence this include various physical conditions, age, diet, alcohol consumption, prescription drug usage, smoking, exercise, etc.

How many treatments will I need for optimal results?
It may vary anywhere from 8 to 12. For best results, it is recommended that treatments are 2-3 days apart.

What treatments compliment LED Light Therapy?
LED Light Therapy is fantastic after any enzymatic or abrasive facial treatment such as a PEEL, MICRODERMABRASION, NON-SURGICAL LIPOSUCTION/ FACELIFTING

What about maintaining the LED Light Therapy effects?
Maintenance with LED Light Therapy, as with any other skincare treatment is highly recommended to ensure lasting results. On average maintenance treatment every 4 to 6 weeks.

Does the skin feel different?
The LED Light Therapy treatments and results begin within the skin, right at the heart of the cell. After the first LED Light Therapy treatment the skin feels tighter, more alive. Due to the increased circulation, oxygenation and moisture, you will notice a softening of the lines and folds, an increase of inner skin firmness as a result and healthy glow and skin rejuvenation.

How long do the LED Light Therapy results last?
LED Light Therapy results have been known to last for from 6 – 12 months. Top up LED Light Therapy treatments are required after the initial course for optimum results at 6 to 8 weekly interval

Can I have LED Light Therapy after having cosmetic injections?
The light from LED Light Therapy would cause no harm to the tissue, however, since it has a regenerative effect it might shorten the life of the paralysing effect of cosmetic injectables.

Our advise is to avoid using LED Light Therapy around the treated areas until the injectables wears off.

Are there any side effects to LED Light Therapy?
LED Light Therapy is safe and effective for all skin types, ethnic and age groups. These treatments have no undesirable side effects and no downtime for the client protective eye goggles must be used for peace of mind for the clients although Research has shown this wavelength to be safe. It is a natural photo-biochemical reaction that is similar to that of photosynthesis in plants, which triggers the body to convert light energy into cell energy without thermal injury. No intra-red or ultra-violet light is used to tissue. It stimulates the cytochromes (a protein that responds to colour) prompting the skin’s fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin proteins. Blue light used is the same frequency as the medical field to help eliminate toxins, to treat liver disorders jaundice in new born babies, relieving hypertension and is efficient in treating manic depression.

MICRODERMABRASION

Why would I undertake Microdermabrasion?
Your skin is exposed to environmental elements every day, Microdermabrasion is designed to remove these impurities on the outer layer of your skin leaving it smooth and refreshed. Over the years, the sun’s rays, pollution, and other damaging agents can take a toll on your skin. Microdermabrasion treatment can help reduce or eliminate the wrinkles and fine lines, “crow’s feet,” age spots, light acne scars, and undesired pigmentation that may appear on the skin over time.

What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliation to gently remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells from the epidermis.

The microdermabrasion equipment used at Nirvana Beauty and Laser Clinics is a diamond tip and a machine based suction to gently lift up the skin during exfoliation. It is a non-invasive treatment, skin rejuvenation procedure.  The vacuum pressure and speed are adjusted depending on the sensitivity and tolerance of the skin. Microdermabrasion is often compared to the feeling of a cat licking the skin- a rough but gentle texture.

Will I need any recovery time?
Minimal to no recovery time is required after microdermabrasion and most people immediately return to daily activity after a session. Makeup and non-irritating creams can usually be applied within a few hours or right after microdermabrasion. Since there is an often immediate increased minor skin sensitivity after microdermabrasion, irritating products such as glycolic acids, AHA’s, Retinoid products or fragranced creams and lotions are typically avoided right after the treatment.

How does Microdermabrasion work?
Microdermabrasion is a procedure to help exfoliate the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin.  Much like brushing one’s teeth, microdermabrasion helps to gently remove skin “plaque” and skin debris. Since human skin typically regenerates at approximately 30 day intervals, skin improvement with microdermabrasion is temporary and needs to be repeated at average intervals of  every one – four weeks (depending on skin condition and concern) for continued improvement. Multiple treatments are highly recommended in addition to correct homecare products, with sunscreen, sun avoidance,

What are the benefits of Microdermabrasion?

* to help diminish the appearance of superficial hyperpigmentation

* photo damage

*uneven skin tone

* fine lines and wrinkles

* scarring

* congested skin

* open pores

* increases circulation to the skin – antiageing

* allows product penetration hence hydrating the skin

* allows makeup to be applied much more smoothly

Are there any side effects of Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion treatment carries minimal to very few possible side effects or complications. However, some clients may experience temporary mild dryness, sun sensitivity, and rarely temporary bruising or scratches in the area of skin treated.

Is the Microdermabrasion Painful?
The microdermabrasion procedure exfoliates dead cells from the skin’s surface. While it is not painful, the treatment can cause a slight warming sensation. After a microdermabrasion treatment, the newly revealed layer of skin is usually more sensitive and requires extra protection from the sun. You should not feel uncomfortable, but you should be particularly careful about wearing sunscreens. Applying moisturizing creams to hydrate and calm the skin can also prevent any potential irritation. Our Skin therapist will be able to recommend a good homecare products that are best suited for your skin needs and concerns.

What results can I expect after Microdermabrasion?
The end result your skin will feel so soft and smooth like a baby’s bottom, by removing the dead layer of skin cells on the surface of the skin, better product penetration is enabled as the dead skin cells on the surface of your skin are blocking any creams from absorbing into the skin. Thus, results are improved with add ons such as Collagen and oxygen infusions for extra hydration!

SKIN NEEDLING + MESOTHERAPY

What is skin-Needling?

Skin Needling (also known as Micro-Needling) is a form of Collagen Induction Therapy which is intended to smooth wrinkles, improve depressed acne scarring as well as reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

It is one the latest and most effective skin treatments available.

Who should undertake Skin-Needling or Mesotherapy?

Skin-needling is a part of the new Mesotherapy treatment. Both treatments are ideal for people with any concerns of aging skin, these concerns including visible signs of:

  • Dull skin colour (due to less blood flow)
  • Drooping facial shape (due to a decrease in collagen)
  • Skin feels dehydrated, and slightly rough
  • Wrinkles and fine lines

If you want to look years younger but are looking for a less invasive treatment that cosmetic surgery, even a face-lift which a lot of people do not actually need.

Sometimes injectables are the same as fillers are great for lifting the skin and creating that uplifting youthful glow, however this cannot reach so close to the eye area, plus fillers sometimes give you a different shape to your natural face.

Skin-needling and Mesotherapy is a powerful skin hydrator plumps up the area of treatment, encouraging your skin to boost into repair mode to give you back that overall lift, smoother texture and brings back vibrancy by naturally delaying signs of aging.

It is simple, when you live well, you look good and you love life!

How Skin-needling and Mesotherapy works:

Skin needling is process carried out with a roller that is covered with numerous tiny needles. Using numbing cream and a very small needle (for almost no pain), these needles penetrate the upper layers of skin to a depth of up to 2mm (depending on the needle length used).

These growth factors then activate multipotent stem cells  already in the skin (tricking them into “thinking” there’s been an injury and new younger tissue should generated).

This process has two major benefits. It effectively stimulates collagen formation at the same time as allowing product absorption more effectively through the top layer (epidermis) of skin.

Skin-needling creates a very minor (almost microscopic) trauma which lasts for a short period of time and does not usually result in bruising or swelling or bleeding in the treated area.

The microscopic punctures (which are often just the opening of the pores of your skin) stimulate collagen production in the dermis layer as it breaks some of the blood vessels directly below the surface of the skin. As the blood clots, it creates the right environment for collagen and elastin formation. It is these key ingredients which help the skin to appear rejuvenated.

What is the difference between skin needling and Mesotherapy?

Skin Needling is a non-surgical method which is carried-out with a derma roller that creates dozens of small needles to deliver the treatment directly into the skin. This is to avtivate the skins natural repair mode resulting in an increase of collagen production and many more benefits.

The difference with Mesotherapy is that revitalising substances are delivered into the skin as multiple, very superficial injections of tiny drops, aided by a dermal roller.

More on Mesotherapy:

Mesotherapy super infuses your skin with HA to give a more radiant and youthful appearance suitable for all skin conditions.

This treatment can diminish the fine lines caused by sun damage and the natural aging process and smooth the skin to give a plump and hydrated look.

Helping to rebuild cells quickly and stimulate growth of the skin-strengthening protein collagen, recovery time can be significantly reduced.

Enlarged pores, stretch marks scarring acne, pigmentation sun damage, collagen induction therapy

This powerful skin hydrator is a natural procedure which plumps up the area of treatment, providing a boost to tired skin leaving skin rejuvenated on the immediate delivery of anti-aging elements to nurture skin, delaying signs of aging.

The skin feels more vibrant ‘smoother’ and fresher’ which stimulate a healing response and may, by itself, generate localgrowth of collagen and other healing components.

Where on my body can I have Skin-needling/ Mesotherapy treatment?

The primary area for Skin-needling and Mesotherapy is on your face, although this treatment works anywhere where cellulite and unwanted fat occurs on the body. The most common areas treated are the thighs and buttocks, abdomen and waistline. The upper arms, under the chin and lower cheeks can also be treated.

Is Skin-needling/ Mesotherapy painful?

Skin-needling creates a very minor (almost microscopic) trauma which lasts for a short period of time.

Because of this we apply special numbing cream prior to treatment

Some patients experience a light tingling sensation which disappears in a flash. Usually with this treatment, it is so relaxing and the feeling of coolness and a soft massage if rubbing any treatment into your skin is all you will feel.

How long does the treatment take?

Because we apply numbing cream, each session is for a minimum of 2 hours, depending on the treatment and the area being treated.

For more tailored information on how long it takes, call us on 1300 761 925.

How many sessions are necessary?

We highly recommend up to 6 treatments to take full advantage of the treatment and allow your skin to rejuvenate it for at least 4 weeks in between treatments.

What you need to do before:

Look forward to seeing results!

Ensure there is no topical infection or inflammation around the area being treated, these include acne, or any open wounds, please don’t hesitate to let us know beforehand if you have any questions or are worried about your skin before treatment.

Also try to avoid aspirin, Vitamin E, Primrose Oil, Nurofen, Chinese and herbal medicine one week before the treatment to protect you against the remote risk of bruising.

Does Misotherapy/Skin-needling have any risks?

This is a topical non-invasive and all natural procedure which simply encourages the natural healing components of the skin to begin.

There are no more risks associated with this treatment than there is with a very sterile pin prick!

Approximately 3% of patients can get mild redness which will last for a few hours. 1% of patients can get bruising lasting up to three days. With skin Needling and Mesotherapy, allergic reactions are extremely rare.

What does it cost?

Skin needling is priced on the area and time taken for a given treatment area. Average treatments will start from $349 per session, or $289 if you pre-pay for 6 or more sessions (highly recommended).

Mesotherapy treatments called ‘the Meso Beauty Glow’ treatment is $750, you can also purchase three at a time with a 30% discount for the course of treatments as three separate treatments are more effective!
At the time of the consultation you’ll be assessed given an accurate quote; you can see more of a cost Breakdown HERE

Post Misotherapy/Skin-needling  Care:

Try not to part-take in any excessive physical activity for the rest of the day.

It is also best not to place anything (cleanser, exfoliate, heat, tan, make-up) on your skin for the next 48 hours whilst your skin is in recovery mode.

Also avoid any products such as AHA’s (Glycolic Acid), BHA’s, benzoyl peroxide, Retinol, alcohol based topical skin care or peels. If you must use a product, use gentle cleanser, hydrating moisturiser, hydrating serum & SPF 15 (min) and only mineral makeup, but keep this to a minimum.

Our expert therapists will be with you every step of the way and take you carefully through these aftercare precautions so if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask them. A list of Do’s and Don’ts of skin needling is on the services pages HERE

How long will the benefits last?

For skin-needling, we recommend an up session every two to six months, the improvement will be more stable and longer lasting.

On average, it will be five to six months before you see the toll of time starting to creep back in. It is best to nip it in the bud at this stage.

FACTOR4

FACTOR4 is the next generation collagen stimulating plasma rich treatment that promises superior results for skin on the face, neck, décolletage, back of hands or any area of the body.
A FACTOR4 treatment naturally stimulates new collagen in the skin by significantly slowing down the skin’s ageing process, reducing fine lines and wrinkles by improving the overall skin’s texture, leaving the skin more youthful and dewy looking.

In as little as 21 days patients can expect to visibly see an improved difference in their overall skin quality.
This is modern technology at its best, using your body’s own rejuvenating power to combat and slow the aging process down committing itself to delivering the results you deserve and have been dreaming of!

What is Factor4?

FACTOR4 is highly concentrated and super-rich plasma serum which contains  four times more growth factors than any brand Blood Rich Injection product!

FACTOR4 is completely autologous (harvested from the body’s own substances), non-toxic and is used to treat a range of skin concerns from wrinkles in areas of the face, neck, décolletage, back of hands, dark eye circles, stretch marks, scars with bonus effects of significant tightening of the skin.

History of Factor4?

This treatment came from a treatment in Germany known as Orthokine is breakthrough technology used to treat osteoarthritis and joint injuries.  Athletes and sport starts such as Kobe Bryant from the LA  lakers travelled to Germany to get this treatment in the form of Orthokine.

Orthokine has gone through rigorous clinical tests and is high in IL-1Ra which is the critical anti-inflammatory cytokine and Growth Factor ( GF).

Our FACTOR4 treatment uses the same method to form the serum used in a similar to treat skin concerns.

What does the Factor4 process involve?

FACTOR4 is generated by encapsulating venous patient blood in technologically advanced tubing and then the drawn blood is incubated for between 6 and 9 hours exposing the blood to pyrogenic free surfaces eliciting a vigorous and rapid increase in the synthesis of growth factors. Following centrifugation, serum extraction and filtration the serum is portioned and stored in a freezer at -18°C.

A FACTOR4 treatment naturally stimulates collegenesis significantly slowing down the skin’s aging process, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and improving the overall skin’s texture. FACTOR4 also contains anti-inflammatory proteins. Patients can expect to start seeing results after a couple of weeks from the first treatment. Three or four treatments two to four weeks apart is suggested treatment protocol for the most beautiful results.

How does does Factor4 work?

The FACTOR4 blood formulation is generated directly from the patient’s blood. The containers of blood are incubated for between 6 and 9 hours. During incubation the blood is exposed to small glass beads that are etched with very carefully shaped tiny grooves. The grooves “fool” cells in the blood, making them behave as though they are repairing trauma. The cells release potent growth and repair factors that can be collected and concentrated using a simple centrifuge.

No chemicals are added to the blood during the process at all. Once culturing is complete, the blood is centrifuged, filtered and the valuable cultured serum is retained. The serum can be stored for up to 7 months.

Why is it called Factor4?

The treatment has 4 times the Growth Factors of the majority of office based manufactured PRP

This is then placed into an incubator for 6-8 hours and then centrifuged to separate red blood cells from the plasma. This end product is then filtered and later stored at -18°C. After all this spinning and filtering attention, it then becomes the best skin care treatment that is pure, super-rich serum containing four times the amount of cytokines (growth factor) than any other blood-rich injection products on the market.

What can Factor4 treat?

FACTOR4 can be an effective treatment for thin, crêpey or inelastic skin. It is particularly suited to treatment of the neck, face, décolletage and back of the hands. When FACTOR4 is used on the hands it increases skin elasticity, reduces spotty pigmentation and reduces visible signs of ageing. When used on the face, FACTOR4 reduces fine lines and wrinkles and improves overall skin tone.

It also effectively reduces:

  • dark eye circles
  • stretch marks
  • scars
  • crepey skin
  • fine lines
  • sagging skin

How is Factor4 used on my skin?

A FACTOR4 treatment naturally stimulates the body’s own repair system. New, fresh, elastic collagen significantly slows the visible ageing process and reduces fine lines and wrinkles while improving the skin’s overall texture and elasticity.

FACTOR4 also contains anti-inflammatory proteins. FACTOR4 can be used alone as an injectable or combined with skin needling or fractional laser to improve results and speed healing.

Typically, micro-needling has been the most popular technique for us in delivering the FACTOR4 treatment. Skin needling uses multiple small needles attached to a round disposable head, that vertically pierce the skin. This not only stimulates collagen production alone, but creates tiny channels in the skin. The FACTOR4 serum is placed on the skin at various stages before and after the Skin needling is conducted. The channels created by the microscopic needles allow the valuable FACTOR4 serum to penetrate into deeper layers of the dermis. This allows for all-over skin rejuvenation.  This method is a more superior derivative of the “vampire facial”, made famous by Kim Kardashian a couple of years ago.

How wany treatments are necessary?
3-4 and an annual top of if desired.

When will I see results from Factor4?
